Adam Lavine is an accomplished bankruptcy litigator who represents debtors, creditors, board members and other stakeholders in insolvency-related disputes and investigations. Mr. Lavine has litigated numerous cases arising from complex corporate restructurings, including in connection with three prominent liability management exercises: Wesco/Incora, TriMark, and Travelport. In addition to his work representing participants in liability management transactions. Mr. Lavine often serves as special litigation counsel to debtors, litigation trusts, and foreign representatives in Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 proceedings.
In cases requiring independent investigations, Mr. Lavine has acted for special committees in a broad array of distressed situations. For example, his investigatory experience includes the independent investigation for the Financial Oversight and Management Board of Puerto Rico in connection with the Puerto Rico Title III bankruptcy proceedings.
Before joining Kobre & Kim, Mr. Lavine practiced in Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP’s restructuring group, where he focused on representing debtors in out-of-court and chapter 11 restructurings, and also advised on distressed M&A and liability management transactions. Mr. Lavine earned his law degree from the NYU School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
